Horoscope

Autumn – Scorpio to Sagittarius

passion, creativity, social

After last month’s Mercury Retrograde, PART-AY might be in the air! A lot of energy with passionate Scorpio in the midst and the need to come out and about and be social. Holidays are approaching, and so begins the food… drinks… and dancing!

<<Details at Dark Star Astrology>>

Leaves are changing and falling, there is a chill in the air, flu-season is about and party time is coming with the holidays around the corner. I am the first one to put on my party shoes so-to-speak but before we go nuts… it’s the perfect time to make sure we are taking care of ourselves before we are surrounded by non-stop eating, family/friend gatherings, guests bringing too much pie, turkey for days, and caramel pop-corn tins (are those still a thing?).

Taking care means eating the way your body needs you to, in order to function properly, and to keep your immune system up! If you’re missing out on vital nutrients from food when you’re back-to-back-to-back entertaining or partying… you should definitely be on top of any supplements you may take, your daily water intake, and adding in some juices to your diet is always helpful as well. While I don’t normally schedule “cheat days” per say… if I know a time is coming up where I may not eat the best way I should… I will over-prepare for that leading up to it. How? Maybe add 1 or 2 gym days that week and do everything else I just mentioned. Also more meatless days in the week if you do eat meat. And of course, on the day of an event, try my best to make the smartest choices while still enjoying myself (all in moderation, right?!).

If you have certain food allergies or serious restrictions, this might be very stressful for you! Here are some tips my mother who has a long list of allergies, uses now which has taken a lot of the stress and inconveniences out of all the family gatherings and parties:

  • Eat a small, healthy meal before going out in case you can’t later.
  • If you’re new to food allergies, always carrying a Benadryl on you is key – if you’re seasoned at this, I’m sure your allergy med situation is covered on a daily basis!
  • Going to someone’s house? Bring a dish you can eat for a nice potluck contribution!
  • Going to a restaurant? Do your research on the place first and call ahead to see how accommodating they are of allergies to know how prepared you need to be.
  • Have some supplements like: Lactaid and Beano on you just in case something goes wrong!
  • Gluten and/or lactose/dairy issues? If you accidentally ate it and your stomach is swollen and in pain, while you’re out – black tea can help soothe it a bit (carry some tea bags if necessary, hot water should be attainable) or hot tea with lemon.
    • Once you’re home: Mix 1 cup hot water + 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar + 1 tbsp. honey and bottoms up! This should help a lot… it doesn’t smell good by any means, but if you’re in pain, it’s the least of your concern. It tastes sweet and sour as I’m sure you can imagine!
  • If you guys have any suggestions – please post them below. Would love to hear them!

Hopefully these ideas on preparedness, keeping the basics top of mind, and some tips for the aftermath are useful! Party it up and ENJOY… just know your limits and always be prepared.
